Legacy
Building a better world together
In Argentina, 1 in 3 families lives in an unsafe home
About Legacy

Our Mission
Habitat for Humanity Argentina created the Legacy program because we believe that every person can be an agent of change and positively influence the lives of others and their environment.
Legado was founded in Argentina with the aim of generating synergy with strategic allies to deal with the consequences of an unprecedented economic and social crisis from which, without a doubt, we cannot emerge alone.
Taking housing as the basis for building better living conditions and based on the experience of the entire Habitat for Humanity network, the campaign seeks to generate a positive and growing multiplier effect.
The main objective is to implement a model of collaboration-action , in which through raising awareness of the housing problem, relevant people in different disciplines can sponsor and make sustainable changes a reality.
Through Legado, people recognized for their careers are invited to finance habitat and housing improvements in their neighborhoods, cities of origin or places to which they are personally committed, inviting peers, companies and followers to participate in building a world where every family has a decent place to live.
The protagonists of Legado will form a great dream team to promote a sustainable proposal of social, economic and environmental benefit.

Standardized improvements
Through the Health and Housing project, families living in a situation of extreme vulnerability can access training, tools and socio-technical support to improve some aspect (bathrooms, roofs, sanitation, etc.) of their home, which will have a favorable impact on their health and well-being.

Social Rental
The project contemplates two approaches:
Residence for a period of three years, the main topic we address, with a graduated subsidy considering the time to recover employment and income.
The creation and implementation of a support network for training, job placement and income generation together with specialized organizations.

Custom upgrades
At Proyecto Hogar, we first work with families to identify the most urgent needs of their homes and establish an incremental process towards adequate housing. The family receives the necessary financial resources, which they will then return, and training and socio-technical support from our team.

Community improvements
In Argentina, community centers play a fundamental role in the social support of the most vulnerable populations. Using the same methodology of standardized improvements, we support the centers to improve some aspect of their facilities.

Co-built projects
Each community represents a different reality, with its own particular problems and strengths. That is why we have the opportunity to co-construct projects, to think of new ways of working based on the needs of each neighborhood. From housing to community infrastructure, the possibilities are multiple and are the result of constructive dialogue.
